Your Bankers Trust Debit Card gives you access to more than 75,000 fee-free ATMs through our ATM network providers – Allpoint and MoneyPass. You’ll find more ATMs in your neighborhood, across the country, and around the globe. These in-network ATMs are also in many regional and nationwide retailers, like Target, Costco, Walgreens and CVS. The benefit is that by using an in-network ATM, you will avoid ATM fees.
Three convenient ways to locate a fee-free ATM
- 1. Use our ATM Finder. Enter your location and you’ll receive quick results with the ATMs nearest you.
- 2. On your Bankers Trust mobile app, go to the Menu and click “Locations.”
- 3. Look for these logos on an ATM near you.
In many cases, the ATMs you’ve been using are likely part of these networks. But, to avoid fees, simply double-check our mobile app or use our ATM Finder to ensure it is part of our network before you use an ATM.
You may be prompted to agree to a surcharge before processing the transaction; however, you will not be charged (which you can confirm on the receipt or on your account transaction history). If you find you were charged a fee for an ATM transaction at an Allpoint or MoneyPass ATM, contact customer service to receive a full refund.
Q: Your website listed a certain ATM as part of the ATM network, but when I went to use the ATM, the Allpoint or MoneyPass logo was not on the machine. Is this ATM still fee-free?
Yes. All ATMs listed on the ATM/branch locator are fee-free, even if the logo is not on the ATM. ATMs that are new to the networks are constantly being added and it may take 4-6 weeks to get the participating logos onto these ATMs.
Q: I used an in-network ATM and the "surcharge warning message" screen said I would be assessed a surcharge fee for the transaction. Will I be charged? Why does this happen?
You will not be charged. Due to the technical limitations of certain types of ATM machines, the networks are currently unable to prevent the “surcharge warning message” screen from appearing on some ATMs. The verification of Allpoint or MoneyPass participation happens while the transaction is processing rather than before, so the surcharge fee page will show up prior to the transaction being completed. The networks are working to eliminate this confusion in the future.
You should continue the transaction by answering “yes” on the ATM screen. When you get your receipt, you’ll see that you were not assessed a surcharge (i.e., the withdrawal amount on your receipt will show $20, $40, $60, etc., as opposed to $22.50, $42.50, $62.50, etc., shown when you pay a $2.50 surcharge fee).
Q: I used an Allpoint or MoneyPass ATM and was incorrectly charged a fee. How can I get a refund for the fees assessed?
Contact customer service at 1-800-362-1688 to receive a full refund.
Q: Are there in network ATMs located outside of the United States?
Yes, you can find Allpoint ATMs virtually anywhere your travels may take you, throughout the United States and around the globe. MoneyPass ATMs are only found within the United States and Puerto Rico.
