Meeting minutes from 1928 document company’s 89-year relationship with Bankers Trust
Some relationships are rock solid and stand the test of time. That includes the relationship between Bankers Trust and the Donald Durham Company, which makes “Durham’s Rock Hard Water Putty,” which is sold at retailers nationwide. Here’s a note we recently received from Ronald Lindhart about his company’s long-lasting relationship with Bankers Trust:
Several years ago, we received a gift from Bankers Trust, celebrating a thirty year relationship between the Donald Durham Company and Bankers Trust. We were certain our relationship was much longer than that. Donald Durham Company was incorporated on October 10, 1928.
In our corporate minutes, dated October 15, 1928, the following is written: “Motion was made, seconded and carried that the Bankers Trust Company be designated as a depository for the funds of the corporation until the further order of the Board of Directors.”
In the following 89 years, no further orders were made by the Board of Directors, and Bankers Trust remains the designated depository for the Donald Durham Company. Mr. Durham was a believer in the adage, “Don’t change horses in the middle of the stream.” We have many customers and suppliers who have had long relationships with the company, but none quite as long as Bankers Trust.
