Culture and Community

Culture

People turn to Bankers Trust because they trust us. We strive to earn that trust every day through every interaction with our customers and the communities we serve. Whether in person, over the phone or via our website or mobile app, those interactions are driven by our empowered and highly engaged team members.

To maintain its highly engaged culture, Bankers Trust listens to its employees and then takes action based on their input. Here are just a few ways Bankers Trust was seen as a premier workplace in 2019:

  • Partnered with Drake University to introduce a new year-long executive development program called “Ready Leader.” Nineteen team members are participating in the inaugural class.
  • Launched EmpowHER, a women’s affinity group created to make it easier for women team members to be connected, empowered and supported in their careers.
  • Introduced and rallied team members behind our new bank-wide Customer Service Standards: Trustworthy, Relationship, Responsive and Convenient.
  • In addition to being named “Best Bank,” we were recognized by readers of the Des Moines Business Record as runner-up in both the “Best Business Supporting Local Charity” and “Best Company for Diversity in the Workplace” categories of the publication’s annual “Best Of” issue.

Community Involvement

Making our communities stronger means rolling up our sleeves and getting to work. Along with volunteering an average of 30 hours per employee, here’s how we did that in 2019.
